Opening doors through learning

Education Programs

We believe education is the foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our comprehensive education programs provide learners of all ages with the skills, confidence, and credentials they need to pursue brighter futures.

GED Preparation

Comprehensive classes that prepare adults to earn their high school equivalency diploma, with flexible daytime and evening schedules to accommodate working learners.

After-School Tutoring

Free one-on-one and small-group tutoring for K-12 students in math, science, reading, and writing. Our trained volunteer tutors provide the extra support students need to excel.

College Readiness

SAT/ACT prep courses, college application guidance, financial aid workshops, and campus visit programs designed to help first-generation students navigate the path to higher education.

Adult Literacy

English language learning and basic literacy instruction for adults, helping community members build the communication skills essential for employment, citizenship, and daily life.

Job Training & Employment

Our job training programs go beyond basic skills, we partner with local employers to design curriculum that meets real workforce demands, ensuring our graduates are ready to succeed from day one.

We help families find safe, affordable rental housing by connecting them with participating landlords, navigating applications, and providing rental assistance referrals.

Tenant Advocacy

Legal education and advocacy services to protect tenants from unlawful eviction, substandard conditions, and discrimination ensuring every family has a voice.

Homeownership Education

First-time homebuyer workshops covering credit repair, mortgage basics, down payment assistance programs, and the entire path from renter to homeowner.

Community Land Trust

Our innovative land trust model preserves permanent affordability by separating land ownership from home ownership, creating lasting community assets.

Amplifying voices, driving change

Community Advocacy

Systemic change requires systemic action. Our advocacy work addresses the root causes of inequality through policy reform, community organizing, and strategic partnerships that give residents a seat at every table.

Policy Reform

We advocate for equitable housing policies, fair lending practices, living wage ordinances, and criminal justice reforms that directly impact inner city residents.

Community Organizing

Training residents in grassroots organizing, civic engagement, and leadership development so that the community drives its own transformation from within.

Resource Navigation

Connecting individuals and families to SNAP benefits, healthcare enrollment, childcare subsidies, utility assistance, and other vital social services

Economic Development

Supporting local small businesses, attracting responsible investment, and creating community benefit agreements that ensure development serves existing residents.
